Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Experimental data for target substance

By applying weight of evidence approach to the target substance 3-Phenoxybenzyl alcohol, the endpoint value was found to be EC50= 0.05 mg/L to 1.5 mg/l in 48 hrs; on the basis of immobilization effect.

As per the study reported by FMC corporation dec 2006 ,Daphnia magna 12 ± 12 hrs old were exposed to the series of concentrations of 3-PBA under static conditions for 48hrs.

Based on immobilization the EC50 for 3-PBA were found to be 17 and 10mg/l at 24 and 48hrs respectively.

Thus considering the value of the endpoint for aquatic classification of the substance, it is concluded that substance likely to exhibit short term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates (Daphnia magna) in category 1.
