Ready biodegradability has been assessed using OECD test method 301C which determined the substance to be readily biodegradable.

The screening test inherent to the biodegradability of the substance has also been calculated using the software BIOWIN v4.10 which predicts the substance to be readily biodegradable.

These results indicate that tributyl benzene-1,2,4 -tricarboxylate (DIPLAST TM 4) is expected to be readily biodegradable.

In accordance with REACH Regulation 1907/2006/EC (Annex IX - & - column 2) simulation tests of biodegradation in water and sediment do not need to be conducted as the substance can be regarded as biodegradable via common microbial pathways although the rate of degradation is likely to be limited due to limited bioavailability as a result of low water solubility.
