Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No effects up to the limit of water solubility (EC50 > 0.13 mg/L and NOEC = 0.13 mg/L, mean measured, centrifuged test solution) for Daphnia magna (OECD 202)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One study is available on the short-term toxcity of 1,2-Benzenediol, 3,5-dialkyl-, 1,2-dicarboxylate to aquatic invertebrates, and was used as key study. The test was conducted according to OECD guideline 202 and GLP (Lehman, 2011). The test organism Daphnia magna was exposed to the test substance in a static system for 48 hours at nominal test concentrations of 0, 6.25, 12.5, 25.0, 50.0 and 100 mg/L (corresponding to mean measured test concentrations of < 0.000507, 0.000923, 0.00379, 0.0163, 0.0394, and 0.130 mg/L). The test concentrations were prepared as water soluble fractions (WSF), with separation of the undissolved test material through centrifugation. 5% immobilisation was observed at the highest test concentration. No further immobilisation occurred. The NOEC was determined to be 0.13 mg/L (mean measured) and the EC50 > 0.13 mg/L (mean measured), implying no effects up to the limit of water solubility.
