Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
not applicable
Conclusions:
BCFs of 33.27 to 606.5 L/kg wet weight were calculated using the BCFBAF v3.0 program. This model use the log Kow in the following equation: Log BCF = -0.49 log Kow + 7.554 + Correction (varies). This substance does not meet the bioaccumulation criteria (BCF) of 2000 L/kg. Therefore, it is not a PBT.
Executive summary:

BCFs of 33.27 to 606.5 L/kg wet weight were calculated using the BCFBAF v3.0 program. This model use the log Kow in the following equation: Log BCF = -0.49 log Kow + 7.554 + Correction (varies).

This result is likely to overpredict the bioaccumulation potential of these phosphites given the size and molecular weight of the molecules and also due to the fact that it is not clear that the model is valid at such a high Kow value. Regardless, the predicted values are well below the PBT criterion on 2000 L/kg. Further, these results do not consider the fact that this substance rapidly hydrolyses and that the hydrolysis products have a low bioaccumulation potential and a readily biodegradable.
