Description of key information

- Toxicity to aquatic algae expressed as the 96h-EC50 (growth rate) was 156.7 mg/l. The 96h-EC10 (growth rate) was 54.3 mg/l.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
156.7 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
54.3 mg/L

Additional information

The toxicity of linalool to Scenedesmus subspicatus (new name Desmodesmus subspicatus) expressed as the 96h-EC50 for growth rate was 156.7 mg/l. The 96h-EC10 was 54.3 mg/l. The test was carried out in a non-GLP study according to DIN guideline 38412 L9.

When biomass was used as parameter, the 96h-EC50 was 88.3 mg/l and the 96h-EC10 was 38.4 mg/l. The results based on growth rate are used for the hazard evaluation.
