Brominated Epoxy having Epoxy Equivalent of 400 gr/eq is an oligomeric mixture. Hence, the substance appearance is composition depended. A typical composition forms a light-yellow viscous waxy solid with unidentified particles. A substance composition containing 92% of the smallest component (n=0) is a solid (generic name F-2200) with identified particles. Phys-chem properties comparison of Brominated Epoxy having Epoxy Equivalent of 400 gr/eq and F-2200 has been made in order to assess properties variation between the two substance compositions. Identical properties have been detected in water solubility and partition coefficient n-octanol/water and density studies. Variation in properties has been detected in appearance and melting point. Granulometry is performed only for F-2200, as for the higher oligomer this is not possible due to waxy aggregation state. F-2200 is regarded as a specific constituent composition of Brominated Epoxy having Epoxy Equivalent of 400 gr/eq.

n=0 component (F-2200) is been considered as worst case scenario, based on the following considerations:

1.     Molecular size - the smallest component

2.     Molecular weight - the smallest component

3.     Water solubility - the most water soluble component.

Thus, phys-chem values of n=0 component are been taken for assessment and analytical methods were developed to detect concentrations of this component in various studies.
