Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

INHALATION

Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing.  Get medical attention if any symptoms happen.

SKIN

Remove contaminated clothing immediately and wash skin with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.

EYE

Do not rub eyes. Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, keep eyelids open. Continue rinsing. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.

INGESTION

Rinse mouth with water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues. If ingestion of a large amount does occur, get medical attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA

Water mist, dry chemical powder, foam, carbon dioxide

UNSUITABLE EXTIGUISHING MEDIA

Full water jet

EXPOSURE HAZARDS

In combustion emits toxic fumes of carbon dioxide / carbon monoxide / oxides of nitrogen.

PROTECTION OF FIRE-FIGHTERS

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes.

Accidental release measures

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS

Eliminate all sources of ignition. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak. Mark out the contaminated area with signs and prevent access to unauthorised personnel. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Wear appropriate protective equipment and clothing during clean-up.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS

Do not discharge into drains or rivers. To prevent release, place container with damaged side up.

Avoid the dusting conditions.

CLEAN-UP PROCEDURES

Avoid the generation of dusts during clean-up. Transfer to a suitable container. Following product recovery, flush area with water.  Incineration, disposal according to local regulations.

Handling and storage

HANDLING REQUIREMENTS

Minimise dust generation and accumulation. Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is formed. Avoid breathing dust. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Avoid release to the environment. Observe good industrial hygiene practices

STORAGE CONDITIONS

Store in a cool, dry place, well-ventilated out of direct sunlight. Keep away from sources of ignition. Keep container tightly closed.  Store in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulation.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection : Respirator with dust filter.

Hand protection : Impermeable gloves resistant to chemical products.

Take into account that the resistance of the gloves could be influenced by different factors, e.g. the work condition or temperature. Consequently the resistance could be different from the one indicated by the permeation data for a certain type of gloves.

Eye protection : Protective goggles

Body protection : Workers have to wear closed working clothes. The contaminated clothing should be washed before re-using them.

Additional information about engineering measures : Ventilation of the local where the product has been stored and/or manipulated.

Provide adequate ventilation.

If this is not sufficient to maintain concentrations of particulates and solvent vapour below the OEL (=Occupational Exposure Limit), suitable respiratory protection must be worn.

Stability and reactivity

Stable under recommended storage and handling conditions.

No dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use.

If product is burned hazardous gases such as oxides of carbon and nitrogen and various hydrocarbons may be produced.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods : Incinerate the material under controlled conditions in an approved incinerator. Dispose in accordance with all applicable regulations. Do not allow this material to drain into sewers/water supplies. Do not contaminate ponds, waterways or ditches with this material or used container.

Contaminated packaging : Not reclaimable packs must be disposed with the product. Do not release in the environment.
