Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
particle size distribution (granulometry)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with national standard methods with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
ISO 13320 (Particle size analysis - Laser diffraction methods)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
Laser scattering/diffraction
Type of particle tested:
agglomerate
Type of distribution:
volumetric distribution
No.:
#1
Size:
< 100 µm
Distribution:
2 - < 3 %
No.:
#2
Size:
< 50 µm
Distribution:
0.3 - < 0.5 %
Conclusions:
The present Propineb samples consist of agglomerated or clustered primary particles.
If the deviation of the particle shape in the powder agglomerates from spherical geometry
is ignored, the aerodynamic particle sizes can be approximately calculated
from the determined equivalent sizes. <100µm = 2 to 3%, <50µM = 0.3 to 0.5%

Description of key information

The aerodynamic particle sizes can be approximately calculated from the determined equivalent sizes <100µm = 2 to 3%; <50µM = 0.3 to 0.5%, ISO 13320, Kiesling and Herrmann 2003.
