Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to fish (OECD 203):

In a GLP compliant OECD 203 study the acute toxicity of the test substance to the freshwater fish rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) has been investigated and based on the nominal test concentration gave a 96 Hour LC50 of greater than 3.9 mg/L.  The No Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC) was 3.9 mg/L.

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates (OECD 202):

In a GLP compliant OECD 202 study exposure of Daphnia magna to the test substance gave the following results at 48-hour:

EC50 (mg/L): 3.9

95% Confidence Limits (mg/L) 2.2 - 6.8

NOEC (mg/L): 1.8

LOEC (mg/L): 3.2

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria (OECD 201):

In a GLP compliant OECD 201 study exposure of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata to the test substance gave the following results based on the geometric mean measured test concentrations:

Growth Rate (95% Confidence Limits (mg/L): 23 - 38): EC50 (mg/L): 29; NOEC (mg/L): 3.6; LOEC (mg/L): 10

Yield (95% Confidence Limits (mg/L): 12 - 15): EC50 (mg/L): 13; NOEC (mg/L): 3.6; LOEC (mg/L): 10

Toxicity to microorganisms (OECD 209):

In a GLP compliant OECD 209 study the effect of the test substance on the respiration of activated sewage sludge micro organisms gave a 3-Hour EC10 value of 64 mg/L.  The NOEC after 3 hours exposure was 32 mg/L.
