First-aid measures

General advice

: Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.

If inhaled

: Remove to fresh air if effects occur. Consult a physician.

Remove to fresh air. Oxygen, if needed.

In case of skin contact

: In case of contact, immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Call a physician if irritation persists. Destroy items which cannot be decontaminated, such as shoes.

Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water.

In case of eye contact

: Flush eyes with plenty of water.

Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.

If swallowed

: If swallowed, seek medical attention. Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel.

Rinse mouth. If conscious, give the victim plenty of water to drink. In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the label where possible). If swallowed, seek medical attention.  Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

: May cause sensitisation by skin contact.

Notes to physician

: Treat symptomatically. No specific antidote.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media

: Water fog or fine spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical, foam. Do not use direct water stream. May spread fire. Alcohol resistant foams (ATC type) are preferred if available. General purpose synthetic foams (including AFFF type) or protein foams may function but much less effectively.

Foam Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Specific hazards during firefighting

: Hazardous decomposition products formed under fire conditions. Sulphur oxides (SOx) Carbon dioxide (CO2) Carbon monoxide (CO)

Further information : Keep people away. Isolate fire area and deny unnecessary entry. Do not use direct water stream. May spread fire. Use water spray to cool fire exposed containers and fire affected zone until fire is out and danger of re-ignition has passed. Move container from fire area if this is possible without hazard. Fight fire from protected location or safe distance. Consider use of unmanned hose holder or monitor nozzles. Immediately withdraw all personnel from area in case of rising sound from venting safety device or discoloration of the container. Burning liquids may be moved by flushing with water to protect personnel and minimize property damage. Burning liquids may be extinguished by dilution with water.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

: Clear non-emergency personnel from area. Avoid contact with skin and clothing. Use appropriate safety equipment. For additional information, refer to Section 8, Exposure Controls/Personal Protection. Exposure controls Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. For personal protection see section 8. Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak.

Environmental precautions

: Avoid contamination of all waterways.

Do not allow contact with soil, surface or ground water. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up

: Contain liquid. Absorb with materials such as sand. Collect in suitable and properly labeled containers. See Section 13, Disposal Considerations. Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Treat recovered material as described in the section "Disposal considerations".

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling

: See Section 8, Exposure Controls/Personal Protection.

Exposure controls Handle and open container with care. Ventilate the area. Use only in area provided with appropriate exhaust ventilation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.

Conditions for safe storage

: Store below 32 °C (90F). Store away from oxidizing materials. Do not store in carbon steel. See Section 8, Exposure Controls/Personal Protection. See Section 10, Stability and Reactivity.

Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Store at room temperature in the original container.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Components with workplace control parameters

Engineering measures : Use only in area provided with appropriate exhaust ventilation. Contains no substances with occupational exposure limit values.

Personal protective equipment Respiratory protection

: In misty atmospheres, use an approved mist respirator.

In the case of respirable dust and/or fumes, use selfcontained breathing apparatus. Filter type: yellow Follow the instructions for use issued by the producer.

Eye protection

: Use chemical goggles. Wear eye/face protection. Tightly fitting safety goggles Skin and body protection

: Use protective clothing impervious to this material. Selection of specific items such as faceshield, gloves, boots, apron or full-body suit will depend on operation. Safety shower should be located in immediate work area. Remove contaminated clothing immediately, wash skin area with soap and water and launder clothing before reuse. Items which cannot be decontaminated, such as shoes, belts and watchbands, should be removed and destroyed. Wear closed work/protective clothing. When filling and refilling outside aclosed system, additionally put on aprons made of polyethylene (PE).

Hygiene measures

: Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday. Preventive skin protection Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Keep working clothes separately. Take off contaminated clothing and wash before reuse.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity

:  No dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use.

Chemical stability

:  Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions

: No dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use.

Conditions to avoid

: Avoid temperatures above 248F (120C). Product can decompose at elevated temperatures. Generation of gas during decomposition can cause pressure in closed systems.

Product can decompose at elevated temperatures.

Incompatible materials

:  Keep away from oxidizing agents.
