Administrative data

First-aid measures

General information : Get medical aid.

First aid measures :

- Inhalation : Assure fresh air breathing. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.

- Skin contact : Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash immediately with plenty of soap and water.

- Eye contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 min. Occasionally lift up the upper and lower eyelids.

- Ingestion : If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious). Do not induce vomiting.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media : foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide, water spray.

Protection against fire : Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (or quivalent) and full protective gear.

Hazardous combustion products : carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen ocides, hydrogen cyanide, hydrogen chloride.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions : Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in Section "Exposure controls and personal precaution".

Environmental precautions : Do not let the chemical enter the environment.

Clean up methods : Ensure adequate ventilation. Absorb spill with inert material (vermiculite, sand or earth), then place in suitable container.

Handling and storage

Storage : Store in dry, cool area in tightly sealed containers under nitrogen. Store away from oxidizing agents. Store in restricted area.

Handling : Keep containers tightly sealed. Ensure good ventilation at the workplace. Keep ignition sources away, do not smoke.

This substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with Reach regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediate. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management system is available at each site. Written confirmation of application of strictly controlled conditions has been received from every downstream user of the intermediate.
