Sensitisation (Humans): Conflicting results of unknown reliability

Additional information

There are a number of reports of allergic contact dermatitis in workers exposed to 1,4 -Butynediol (B3D) and, in some cases, these reports have been backed by the results of patch testing in effected individuals (ECB 2005). In experimental human patch testing with B3D, conflicting results have been reported (Kligman, 1966 and GAF, undated) and have not reliably demonstrated a skin sensitizing potential.
