Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Results

The Log10Powof the test material has been predicted using chemical estimation software. The results are as follows:

Table6.2

Component

KOWWIN log10Pow

Lithium salt of oleic acid

3.92

Lithium salt of linoleic acid

3.70

The chemical structure input is indicative of the structure at an environmentally relevant pH (5-9).

The calculations are illustrated in attached Appendix 4.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
No experimental determination of partition coefficient could be performed as the test material exhibited the properties of a surfactant. Therefore the partition coefficient was calculated using specialist chemical estimation software. The results are shown below:

Component KOWWIN log10 Pow
Lithium salt of oleic acid 3.92
Lithium salt of linoleic acid 3.70
Executive summary:

Partition Coefficient.

The test material emulsified in the n-octanol/water system thus preventing the determination by the shake-flask method. The HPLC method is also not suitable. Therefore using specialist chemical estimation software, the partition coefficient of the test has been calculated. The results are shown below:
