Sensitising in some human case reports

Additional information

In a study of 32 human volunteers in a maximization repeated-insult patch test to ethyl ricinoleate, no signs of irritation or sensitisation were reported. While there have been several accounts of dermal sensitisation in humans exposed to 12 -hydroxystearate compounds, including one case of a military occupational contact allergy to the rubber mask of a respirator, these do not override the negative findings of the human HRIPT or the animal sensitisation testing. Taken as a weight of evidence, the substance is not considered a dermal sensitiser.
