Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
04 December 2015 - 15 April 2016
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
flask method
Key result
Water solubility:
0.913 mg/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Loading of aqueous phase:
210.6 mg/L
Incubation duration:
>= 36 - <= 38 d
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
>= 6.2 - <= 6.9

Under the conditions of this test (flask method; loadings of 210.6 mg test item/L and 210 mg test item/L in vessel 1 and 2. respectively) a solubility equilibrium was observed during the testing (days 36 – 38). The mean amount of dissolved magnesium during the test at 20.0 ± 1.0°C is 133.94 ± 0.66 µg Mg/L without subtraction and 118.42 ± 0.48 µg Mg/L with subtraction of method blanks (determined as dissolved magnesium, separated by filtration from undissolved test item). This corresponds to calculated dissolved magnesium dimetaphosphate of 1033.13 ± 5.06 µg test item/L (without subtraction) and 913.44 ± 3.73 µg test item/L (with subtraction), respectively. The pH in test item loaded vessels and method blanks were in the range of 6.2 – 6.9.
