Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
9 mg/L
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The water solubility of DIMAPDO hydrochloride is reported to be below 0.1 mg/L at 25°C. However, the registration substance is a surface active substance and a strong base which is mostly protonated under environmental conditions therefore the determination of water solubility according to OECD guideline 105 using the flask method is not appropiate. Surfactants show a complex solubility behaviour due to aggregation. The monomer concentration reaches a limiting value at the critical micelle concentration and remains approximately constant when the total concentration further increases. This value is considered to be the environmentally relevant parameter. Therefore, the critical micelle concentration (CMC) of DIMAPDO hydrochloride was determined according to OECD Guideline 115 and ISO Standard 304 -1985. The CMC of DIMAPDO hydrochloride is 9 mg/L at 25°C.
