Additional information

PNEC freshwater sediment:

K_(susp-water) = 0.9 m3/m3

RHO_(susp) = 1150 kg/m3

Conversion factor (wwt -> dwt): 4.6

PNEC_freshwater sediment = (K_(susp-water)/ RHO_(susp))*PNEC_water * 1000

= (0.9/1150)* 0.1 *1000

= 0.0782 mg/kg wwt

= 0.359 mg/kg dwt

PNEC marine water sediment:

K_(susp-water) = 0.9 m3/m3

RHO_(susp) = 1150 kg/m3

Conversion factor (wwt -> dwt): 4.6

PNEC_marine water sediment = (K_(susp-water)/ RHO_(susp))*PNEC_marine water* 1000

= (0.9/1150)* 0.01 * 1000

= 0.0078 mg/kg wwt

= 0.03588 mg/kg dwt

PNEC soil:

K_(soil-water) = 0.2 m3/m3

RHO_(soil) = 1700 kg/m3

Conversion factor (wwt -> dwt): 1.13

PNEC_soil = (K_(soil-water)/ RHO_(soil))*PNEC_water * 1000

= (0.2/1700)* 0.1 * 1000

= 0.0117 mg/kg wwt

= 0.0132 mg/kg dwt

Conclusion on classification

Acute aquatic toxicity

Fish and daphnia were the most sensitive species in acute aquatic toxicity tests according to OECD guideline 203 and 202, respectively. The 96 -h EC50 value fpr fish and the 48 -h EC50 value for daphnia was greater than 100 mg/L. Based on acute aquatic toxicity results obtained, the test substance was not classified and labeled for acute aquatic toxicity according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), as amended for the seventh time in Regulation (EC) No 2015/1221.

Chronic toxicity

Lemna gibba was used in a growth inhibition test, according to OECD guideline 221. Based on the frond number, the 7-d EC50 was > 352 mg/L, the 7 -d EC10 was 52.4 mg/L and the NOEC was 56.3 mg/L. The test substance was not biodegradable. Based on the test results, the test substance was not classified and labeled for chronic toxicity according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), as amended for the seventh time in Regulation (EC) 2015/1221.
