Biodegradation

To evaluate the ready biodegradation of the test substance (80% act. integr.), the BOD5 and COD value were determined according to the EU method C.5 or EU method C.6, respectively. The BOD5 was 4 mg O2/g and the COD was 876 mg O2/g. Therefore, the BOD5/COD ratio is calculated < 1%.

According to the Zahn-Wellens inherent biodegradability test (OECD guideline 302B), the DOC removal was 6% for the test substance (60% act. integr.) and 1.7% for the test substance (80% act. integr.) after 28 days.

These test results indicate that the substance is non-biodegradable under the chosen conditions.
