Additional information

Available data on exotoxicity of the submission substance to aquatic organisms are restricted to sewage treatment plant microorganisms and freshwater fish. For both organism groups reliable studies were available.

No significant inhibition of sewage treatment plant microorganisms could be observed at the limit concentration of 1000 mg/L test material corresponding to 762 mg/L submission substance (EC20 and EC50 > 762 mg/L).

In the semistatic test on the freshwater fish Danio rerio due to the very poor solubility of the test item in water the dispersion of the test substance was not stable and precipitation caused a rapid decline of test substance concentration to 0.4% to 2.3% of nominal concentration during 24 hours. Therefore a semistatic design was applied with media exchange every 24 hours. Toxicity due to praticluate matter can not be excluded. Toxicity was only observed at the highest nominal concentration of submission substance of 500 mg/L with a mortality of 20% at 48 and 96 hours. Therefore, LC50 (48 and 96h) is higher than 500 mg/L nominal concentration.
