Description of key information

MWCNTs are an allotropic form of carbon where the carbon atoms are covalently bonded together in a hexagonal lattice. Due to the high carbon-carbon binding enthalpies, a) insolubility must be deduced, because hydration enthalpy is low or even positive for carbon and thus cannot compensate for the high covalent binding enthalpies of C-C bonds; and b) MWCNTs and graphite both share a very high sublimation temperature of >= 3000 K. Accordingly, a very low number is given as a key value for Henry´s law constant.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Henry's law constant (H) (in Pa m³/mol):
0
at the temperature of:
20 °C
