Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

General information:

Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately

If someone exposed to the product feels unwell, contact a doctor and show this safety data sheet.

Adhere to personal protective measures when giving first aid

After inhalation

Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him calm.

In the event of symptoms seek medical advice.

After contact with skin

In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with plenty of water

Consult a doctor if skin irritation persists.

After contact with eyes

Rinse immediately with gently running water for 15 minutes, maintaining eyelids open. Consult at once an ophthalmologist or a physician.

After ingestion

If swallowed do not induce vomiting, seek medical advice and show safety datasheet or label

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed:

Treat symptomatically

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: water spray jet, foam

Extinguishing media that must not be used for safety reasons: strong water jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon dioxide (CO2), Nitrogen oxides (NOx)

Special protective equipment for firefighting:

Use self-contained breathing apparatus

Wear flame-proof clothes, flame-proof gloves, and, if necessary, flame-proof hood as well as helmet and fire-brigade boots when fighting fire.

Further information:

Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.

Wear protective equipment.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:

Do not inhale dust.

Ensure adequate ventilation.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Wear suitable personal protective equipment.

Use respiratory protection if exposed to vapours/dust/aerosols.

Environmental precautions:

Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Avoid dust formation and electrical charging (sparking) because dust explosion might occur.

Take up with suitable equipment and if necessary collect in closed containers

Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled

Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with the regulations.

Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling:

Keep the formation and deposition of dust to a minimum.

Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilation if necessary).

Hygiene measures:

At work do not eat, drink, smoke or take drugs.

Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately.

Wash hands before breaks and after work.

Use barrier skin cream.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion:

Organic products which are intentionally or unintentionally in powdered form have, in principle, the possibility of creating a dust explosion hazard

Avoid impact, friction and accumulation of electrostatic charge

Keep away from sources of ignition - refrain from smoking.

Take precautions against accumulation of electrostatic charge

Requirements for storage areas and containers:

Keep only in the original container

Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place, open and handle carefully.

Keep away from sources of ignition.

Exposure controls / personal protection

This substance is exclusively used as an intermediate to be consumed in a chemical reaction for the synthesis of other chemical compounds.

During its lifecycle the substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions and is rigorously contained in accordance with Art. 18.

Based on the knowledge of the basic hazards to humans and environment technical, organizational and PPE measures are taken to minimize release and exposure of this substance. National regulatory requirements for the handling of chemicals are also fulfilled. Employees are regularly trained. The efficiency of these measures is controlled e.g. by workplace measurements. In case of deviations these measures are adapted.

Appropriate engineering controls:

Provide general ventilation.

General protective measures:

Do not inhale vapours or dust

Avoid contact with eyes and skin

Observe the usual precautions for handling chemicals.

Respiratory protection :

Use respiratory protection in case of insufficient exhaust ventilation or prolonged exposure

Hand protection :

Nitrile rubber gloves.

Observe the information of the glove manufacturers on permeability and breakthrough times and other workplace requirements

Eye protection :

tightly fitting safety glasses

Body protection :

protective clothing

Stability and reactivity

Stable under recommended storage conditions.

No decomposition if stored and applied as directed

No hazardous reactions when stored and handled according to prescribed instructions

Disposal considerations

Product

Product should be be taken to a suitable and authorized waste disposal site in accordance with relevant regulations and if necessary after consultation with the waste disposal operator and/or the competent Authorities

Uncleaned packaging

Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste
