Description of key information
The partition coefficient of AA-948-61 (Decarboxylated Rosin, CAS No.8050-18-8) was determined according to regulatory guidelines: OECD Guideline for the Testing of Chemicals: Partition Coefficient (n-Octanol/Water): Shake Flask Method, Test Guideline 107. Measured volumes of n‑octanol and double distilled water so as to give 1:1, 1:2, and 2:1 ratios, were shaken along with AA-948-61 until equilibrium was achieved. The phases were then separated and the concentration of AA-948-61 in each phase was determined using a validated analytical method. The partition coefficient was then calculated.
The overall mean partition coefficient (Pow) and log Pow of AA-948-61 at 20ºC ± 1ºC was found to be 7909.15 and 3.89, respectively.
