Administrative data

First-aid measures

General information: Seek medical assistance if discomfort continues. Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately.

After inhalation: Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him calm.

After contact with skin: In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with soap and water.

After contact with eyes: Rinse immediately with gently running water for 15 minutes, maintaining eyelids open. Consult an ophthalmologist or a physician.

After ingestion: Rinse out mouth and give plenty of water to drink. Get medical treatment.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: water spray jet, alcohol-resistant foam

Extinguishing media that must not be used for safety reasons: dry powder, carbon dioxide, full water jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon monoxide (CO)

Carbon dioxide (CO2).

Special protective equipment for firefighting: Use self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear full protective suit.

Further information: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and full protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Use personal protective clothing. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid dust formation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Environmental precautions: Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil. If the product gets into drains, inform the relevant authorities immediately.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Take up mechanically. Place in suitable containers and send for recovery or disposal.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling: Avoid the formation and deposition of dust. Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace.

Hygiene measures: Work in an adequately ventilated room. Change contaminated clothes immediately.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Keep away from sources of ignition. Take precautions against accumulation of electrostatic charge. Avoid influence of heat. Dust can form an explosive mixture with air.

Dust explosion class: ST1 Capable of dust explosion

Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Protect from moisture.

Advice on storage compatibility: Not required.

Further information on storage conditions: Store at a temperature between 5 to 40 °C.

Exposure controls / personal protection

General protective measures: Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not inhale dust.

Respiratory protection : Short term: filter apparatus, Filter P2

Hand protection:

For long-term exposure: Butyl rubber gloves. Minimum thickness (glove): not determined

With solid dry substances permeation is not to be expected, therefore the breakthrough-time for this protective glove has not been measured.

For short-term exposure (splash protection): Nitrile rubber gloves.

Minimum thickness (glove): not determined

With solid dry substances permeation is not to be expected, therefore the breakthrough-time for this protective glove has not been measured.

These types of protective gloves are offered by various manufacturers. Please note the manufacturers´ detailed statements, especially about the minimum thickness and the minimum breakthrough time. Consider also the particular working conditions under which the gloves are being used.

Eye protection: Depending on the risk, wear sufficient eye protection (safety glasses with side protection or goggles, and if necessary, face shield.)

Body protection: protective clothing

Stability and reactivity

Thermal decomposition: 274 °C (Heating rate: 3 K/min). No decomposition if used as prescribed.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: No hazardous reactions known. Stable.

Chemical stability: Under normal conditions the product is stable.

Conditions to avoid: strong heat

Incompatible materials: not known

Hazardous decomposition products: No hazardous decomposition products known.

Disposal considerations

Product: In accordance with regulations for hazardous waste, must be taken to a hazardous waste disposal site.

Uncleaned packaging: Regulations concerning reuse or disposal of used packaging materials must be observed.
