First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures
General information: Remove from exposure. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.
Consult a doctor if irritation develop or persist.
After inhalation: Remove to fresh air and monitor breathing. If breathing becoming difficult,
give oxygen and consult a physician. If breathing stops, give artificial
respiration and consult a physician.
After skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing immediately, wash the skin with plenty of
water and soap.
After eye contact: Flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.
Assure adequate flushing by separating the eyelids with fingers.
Consult a specialist for medical surveillance.
After swallowing: Wash out the mouth with clear water if the patient is conscious.
Consult with a physician.
Do not induce vomiting.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: I
NHALATION: low concentrations with slight nasal and throat effect.
Headache, dizziness,
confusion, coordination disorder, stubbornness, inefficiency, nausea and
vomiting
cause. At higher exposures, bronchitis, pneumonia, hepatic impairment, loss
of consciousness
and death can occur.
EYE: The vapor is slightly irritating. Fluid causes pain and transient irritation.
SKIN: slightly irritating. The skin is slightly absorbed through the skin.
INGESTION: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and loss of consciousness occur.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed:
In case of sickness, symptoms or allergic reactions call immediate medical
attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media: Water spray, carbon dioxide, extinguishing powder, foam.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Unknown.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Carbondioxide and carbonmonoxide.

Advice for firefighters: Wear selfcontained breathing apparatus and protective clothing for firefighting.

Fire hazard class Danger of explosion

Fire and explosion hazard Extremely flammable liquid. Vapours may form explosive mixtures with air.Take precautionary measures against static electricity.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Wear protective clothing. Respiratory, eye and skin protection needed.
Remove ignition sources.

Environmental precautions: Hinder substance from entering soil, sewers or living water.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Collect the product carefully and place material into suitable, labelled
container for disposal. Ventilate the effected area and wash spill site after
material pickup is complete. Don’t evacuate in the waste water system.
Wear protective equipment.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:
Handling: Do not breathe vapour, mist associated with material.
Provide for fresh air ventilation.
Safety measures: Suitable general and local exhaust ventillation is needed.
Fire and explosion protection
measures:
Take measures against electrostatic discharges.

Conditions for safe storage, including
any incompatibilities:
Keep in wellclosed storage containers, in a cool and wellventilated
place.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters:
National ( HUngarian) occupational exposure limit values:
AK: 190 mg/m3 ; CK: 380 mg/m3 ; MK: None
Other occupational exposure limit
values:
No data.

Relevant regulations and recommended monitoring procedures: 91/322/EEC; 98/24/EC directives and its modifications (2000/39/EC, 2006/15/EC)
Appropriate engineering controls: Suitable general and local exhaust ventilation.
Closed system.

Personal protection equipment
Eye/face protection: Safety googles, face shield.
Hand protection: Protective gloves against solvents.
Respiratory protection Full face gasmask with A2 brown filter cartridge.
Personal protection, general hygienic
measures:
Wear protective clothes to avoid skin contact.
Remove contaminated clothing. Wash before reuse.
Wash hands with soap and water thoroughly after handling.

Environmental exposure controlls: Do not let into drains.
Material and contaminated packaging should handle as hazardous wastes.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: Possibility to hazardous reactivity is not expected.

Stability: Stable at normal temperature and pressure.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: The substance has no hazardous reactivity. Organic substance, hazardous
reaction is possible with strong oxidizers, acids, bases.

Conditions to avoid (heat, pressure,
light, shock):
Avoid ignition sources.

Incompatible materials: Strong oxidising agents.

Hazardous decomposition products Not known.

Disposal considerations

Disposal of the product related waste:
Dispose the solid waste or incinerate in accordance of all state and local
regulations. Burn the material in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber.

Disposal of contaminated packaging:
Dispose according to the state and local regulations.

Relevant community, national and regional provisions:
Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 November 2008 on waste Directive 91/689/EEC of hazardous wastes.
