First-aid measures

First aid measures for different exposure routes
- General advice: Get medical attention immediately following exposure
- Eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.
- Skin contact: Wash off with warm water and soap. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Destroy contaminated shoes. Get medical attention immediately.
May cause an allergic skin reaction. If skin irritation persists, call a physician.
- Inhalation: Move to fresh air. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Get medical attention immediately.
- Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting. Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical attention immediately.
- Protection of First-aiders: Use personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Most important symptoms/effects, acute and delayed
- Main Symptoms: No information available.

Indication of immediate medical attention and special treatment needed, if necessary
- Notes to physician: May cause sensitisation of susceptible persons. Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable Extinguishing Media
- Dry chemical, CO2, sand, earth, water spray or regular foam. Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment. Dike fire-control water for later disposal.

Unsuitable Extinguishing Media
- Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire. Cool containers / tanks with water spray.

Specific hazards arising from the chemical
- Thermal decomposition can lead to release of irritating gases and vapours. Runoff may pollute waterways.

Explosion Data
- Sensitivity to Mechanical Impact: Not sensitive.
- Sensitivity to Static Discharge: Not sensitive.

Protective Equipment and Precautions for Firefighters
- Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
- Personal precautions: Do not touch damaged containers or spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Use personal protective equipment.
- Other information: Ventilate the area.

Environmental precautions
- Environmental precautions: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Should not be released into the environment.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up
- Methods for Containment: Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Dike to collect large liquid spills.
- Methods for cleaning up: Soak up with inert absorbent material. Pick up and transfer to properly labelled containers. If liquid has been spilt in large quantities clean up promptly by scoop or vacuum. Clean contaminated surface thoroughly.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling
- Advice on safe handling: Prevent splashing and leaking of product. Prevent the formation of vapours, mists and aerosols. Ensure adequate ventilation. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not breathe vapours or spray mist. Wear personal protective equipment. Wash thoroughly after handling.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
- Technical measures/Storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Keep in properly labelled containers.
- Incompatible products: Strong oxidising agents. Strong acids. Strong bases.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls
- Engineering Measures: Apply technical measures to comply with the occupational exposure limits. Where reasonably practicable this should be achieved by the use of local exhaust ventilation and good general extraction. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.

Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment
- Eye/Face Protection: Tightly fitting safety goggles. If splashes are likely to occur, wear: Face-shield.
- Skin and body protection: Long sleeved clothing. Impervious gloves. Chemical resistant apron. Rubber or plastic boots.
- Respiratory protection: If exposure limits are exceeded or irritation is experienced, EN-approved (filter type A) respiratory protection should be worn. Respiratory protection must be provided in accordance with current local regulations.
- Hygiene measures: Provide regular cleaning of equipment, work area and clothing. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not breathe vapours, mist or gas. Use personal protective equipment as required. Keep working clothes separately. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity
- Not applicable

Chemical stability
- Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Customer Care
- Hazardous Reactions: None under normal processing.
- Hazardous Polymerisation: Hazardous polymerisation does not occur.

Conditions to Avoid
- Exposure to air or moisture over prolonged periods. To avoid thermal decomposition, do not overheat.

Incompatible Materials
- Strong oxidising agents
- Strong acids
- Strong bases

Hazardous Decomposition Products
- Carbon oxides
- Hydrocarbons
- Tin oxides

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment
Waste from residues/unused products
- Dispose of in accordance with the European Directives on waste and hazardous waste. Can be incinerated, when in compliance with local regulations.
Contaminated packaging
- Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling site for recycling or disposal. Do not re-use empty containers.
Other information
- According to the European Waste Catalogue, Waste Codes are not product specific, but application specific. Waste codes should be assigned by the user based on the application for which the product was used.
