First-aid measures

Eye Contact:  Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.

Skin Contact:  Wash immediately with plenty of water and soap.  Remove contaiminated clothing and shoes without delay.  Obtain medical attention.  Do not reuse contaminated clothing with out laundering.  Destroy or thoroughly clean shoes before reuse.

Inhalation:  Material is not expected to be harmful if inhaled.  Remove to fresh air.

Ingestion:  If swallowed, call a physician immediately.  Only induce vomiting at the instruction of a physician.  Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:  Use water spray, carbon dioxide or dry chemical.

Keep containers cool by spraying with water if exposed to fire.

Firefighers, and others exposed, wear self-contained breating apparatus.  Wear full firefighting protective clothing.  See product's MSDS, Section 8 (Exposure Controls/Personal Protection).

Accidental release measures

Protective equipment:

Where exposure level is known, wear approved respirator suitable for level of exposure.  Where exposure level is not known, wear approved, positive pressure, self-contained respirator.  In addition to the protective clothing / equipment in the product's MSDS, Section 8 (Exposure Controls/Personal Protection), wear impermeable boots.

Environmental precautions:

Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination.

Clean up and containment:

Cover spills with some inert absorbent material; sweep up and place in a waste disposal container.  Flush spill area with water.

Handling and storage

Precautionary measures:  Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin.  Keep away from heat and flame.  Wash thoroughly after handling.

Special handling statements:  None.

Safe storage conditions:  Areas containing this material should have fire safe practices and electrical equipment in accordance with applicable regulations and/or guidelines.  Standard are primarily based on the material's flashpoint, but may also take into account properties such as miscibility with water or toxicity.  All local and national regulations should be followed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering controls:

Closed systems are recommended to control exposure.

Respiratory protection:

Closed systems are recommended to control exposure.  Where inhalation exposure cannot occur, no respiratory protection is required.

If worn, a full facepiece respirator also provides eye and face protection.

Eye protection:

Wear eye/face protection such as chemical splash proof goggles or face shield.  Eyewash equipment and safety shower should be provided in areas of potential exposure.

Skin protection:

Avoid skin contact.  Wear impermeable gloves and suitable protective clothing.

Hand protection:

Nitrile or fluorinated rubber gloves should be used.  Consider the porosity and elasticity data of the glove manufacturer and the specific conditions in the work place.  Barrier creams may help to protect the skin but should only be used in conjunction with gloves and should not be used after exposure has already occurred.  Replace gloves immediately if torn or if any change in appearance is noticed.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity:  No information available.

Stability:  Stable.

Conditions to avoid:  None known.

Polymerization:  Will not occur.

Conditions to avoid:  None known.

Incompatible materials:  Strong oxidizing agents and acids.

Hazardous decomposition products:  carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide.

Disposal considerations

The supplier of this product encourages recycle, recovery and reuse of the material where permitted.  If disposal is necessary, it is recommended that organic materials, especially if classified as hazardous waste, be disposed of by thermal treatment or incinceration at approved facilities.  All local and national regulations should be followed.
