Administrative data

First-aid measures

General advice:  

Take off all contaminated clothing immediately.

If inhaled:

Remove to fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Skin contact:

After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water. If skin reactions occur, contact a physician.

Eye contact:

In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

Ingestion:

If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

Water spray jet, Foam, Dry powder, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Carbon monoxide (CO)

Vapours may form explosive mixtures with air.

Unsuitable extinguishing agents:

High volume water jet

Thermal decomposition:

Fire may cause evolution of: Carbon oxide

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters:

In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Use personal protective equipment.

Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.

Methods for cleaning or taking up:

Cover spilt product with liqiud-binding material (sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, hybilat). Take up mechanically and fill into labelled, closed containers.

Further accidental release measures:

Keep away from/remove sources of ignition.

Handling and storage

Handling:

Avoid formation of aerosol. Only handle product with local exhaust ventilation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Fire and explosion protection:

Take measures to prevent the build up of electrostatic charge. Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.

Storage:

For storage suitable stores with adequate product-reception volume must be used. During handling local official regulations must be observed in

order to avert impairment of water by the product.

Exposure controls / personal protection

This intermediate is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with the ECHA REACH Guidance on Intermediates.  Site documentation to demonstrate safe handling arrangements in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each Manufacturing site.

Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection: respirator with P3 filter

Eye protection: safety glasses with side-shields

Hand protection: During the handling of the substance according to the intended use protection gloves from nitrile rubber have been proved. During the handling of pure solid substances or powder mixtures a permeation of the rubber material is not to be expected. In case of doubt, especially

during handling of the substance together with organic solvents, the stability of the protection gloves has to be clarified with the manufacturer.

Skin and body protection: Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.

Stability and reactivity

Condition to avoid: Heat, flames and sparks.

Materials to avoid: Oxidizing agents

Hazardous reactions with: Bases, Acids, Oxidizing agents, Vapours may form explosive mixture with air.
