Description of key information

The hydrolytic behaviour of trimethylolpropane was tested by the MITI Japan according to OECD 111. The hydrolytic half-life at pH 4.0, 7.0, and 9.0 at 25°C was determined to be greater than 1 year. Therefore, trimethylolpropane is hydrolytically stable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The test is peer-reviewed and cited in the SIDS for trimethylolpropane. Since the study was performed by the MITI Japan according to OECD Guideline 111, the reliability of the result is considered to be 2. Therefore, the study is suitable for a key study. Further studies are not available for trimethylolpropane.
