Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Administer artificial

respiration if patient has stopped breathing and seek

medical attention immediately.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes with running water for several minutes while

holding eyelids open. Seek medical attention if irritation

persists.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected area with plenty

of soap and water. Seek medical attention if irritation

persists.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, carbon dioxide or dry chemical.

Product arising from burning: Fumes may contain hydrofluoric acid and carbonyl fluoride.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Firefighters should wear full protective clothing and

self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear respiratory protection and appropriate protective

equipment to prevent skin and eye contact. Contain the

spilled material and remove for subsequent disposal.

Ventilate the area. Absorb remaining residue with an inert

material and place in closed containers for disposal. Wash

the spill area with soap and water. Do not allow product to

enter municipal sewers or waterways.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid inhalation of vapours or mists. Avoid contact with

skin, eyes and clothing. Provide local exhaust ventilation.

Wear a NIOSH certified respirator for protection against

process vapours or mists. Wear a positive pressure

air-supplied respirator in situations where there may be

potential for elevated airborne exposure. Safety

goggles/glasses, rubber gloves and an apron should be worn

when handling this material.

Storage: Store in appropriately labelled containers at ambient

temperature in a well ventilated place. Keep container

closed when not in use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 20 or 200 litre SUS pails or drums.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Lubricant layer formation: The formulated substance is

withdrawn from the system and transferred to a separate tank

for refining and recycling. The waste fraction from the

distillation process is incinerated and treated using an

acid component elimination scrubber.

Cleaning and drying agent: The substance is separated from

other cleaning agents and recycled.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No method of chemical neutralisation is known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Any waste streams containing the substance will be

incinerated. Flue gases should be scrubbed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable, as the substance will not enter the public

domain.
