Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

FAT40825 has been tested for biodegradability and bioaccumulation potential (logPOW) and has been shown to be persistent due to its lack of ready biodegradability but is notbioaccumulative (log POW < -4.7). While chronic aquatic toxicity data are not available, FAT40825 is considered not to be toxic based on acute aquatic toxicity data (including results of studies in fish, daphnia and algae), which do not fulfill the screening criteria for toxicity based on the EC50 values of these studies. No repeated dose toxicity in mammals is known for FAT40825. In addition, due to the absence of effects seen in the reproductive toxicity screen study (OECD 421) and the negative assessment of mutagenicity the substance is neither classified for CMR properties nor for repeated dose toxicity/specific target organ toxicity upon repeat exposure. Thus, the substance also does not fulfill the T-criterion.

Thus, in lack of bioaccumulation and toxic potential the substance is considered neither PBT nor vPvB.
