- Koc
- Value:
- ca. 3.68
Results: HPLC method
- Details on results (HPLC method):
- The soil adsorption coefficient of Beta Ketosulfide was evaluated using the HPLC simulation technique with a mobile phase of methanol /water, 55/45 v/v. The test substance eluted as a single component with a retention time corresponding to a log Koc value of +3.68, within a mean 95% confidence range of +3.12 to +5.00.
Any other information on results incl. tables
The test substance, Beta Ketosulfide eluted as asingle peak with a retention time within the rangeof retention times of the calibration substances.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- The test substance Beta Ketosulfide eluted as a single peak with a retention time within the range of retention times of the calibration substances. Therefore the results of the estimation may be expected to be realistic, as the results were calculated b interpolation rather than extrapolation. It was possible to establish the calibration line with six different calibration compounds, five eluting before the test substance and one eluting after it.There were only minimal differences between the replicated of retention times for each of the ca libration and test substances, and between the two injection sequences. The resultant calculated va lues differed only to a small extent, therefore the results are considered acceptable for regulatory purposes. The distribution coefficient of Beta Ketosulfide was successfully evaluated using the HPLC simu lation technique, with a mobile phase of methanol/water, 55:45 v/v. The test substance eluted as a single component exhibiting a retention time corresponding to a log Koc value of +3.68, within a 95% confidence range of +3.12 to +5.00
- Executive summary:
The substance was tested in accordance with EC Directive 92/69/EEC Method C19 and OECD guideline 121. The soil adsorption coefficient of Beta Ketosulfide was evaluated using the HPLC simulation technique with a mobile phase of methanol/water, 55/45 v/v. The test substance eluted as a single component with a retention time corresponding to a log Koc value of +3.68, within a mean 95% confidence range of +3.12 to +5.00.
