The vapour pressure of Beta Ketosulfide was determined in duplicate by the Knudsen Effusion Technique with test temperatures between 20 and 30C. The Clausius-Clapeyron equations were:-
Test 1: lnp=9433/T - 43.0 with a correlation of 0.5092
Test 2: lnp=26270/T - 98.1 with a correlation of 0.9390
From these regressions, the mean vapour pressures at environmental temperatures were calculated to be:
1.11 x 10-4Pa at 20C (0.111 mPa)
2.82 x 10-5Pa at 25C (0.028 mPa)
These results should be interpreted as providing an approximate indication of the vapour pressure only. The melting point of the test substance is approximately 55C, and this restricted the temperature range available for measurements, and hence the reliability of the result.
