Any other information on results incl. tables

The measured surface tension of pure water at a nominal temperature of 20C was determined to be 73.5mN/m. The literature value at this temperature is 72.75mN/m, and therefore the calibration factor was determined to be 0.9898.

The results for the test substance solution, which was 90% saturated are presented in the table below. The mean measured temperature during the test was 20.1C.

After application of the calibration factor, the mean results was 72.75mN/m.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The surface tension at 20°C of a 90% saturated solution of Beta Ketosulfide was determined to be 72.75 mN/m, and is therefore not considered to be surface active.
Executive summary:

The experimental procedure followed is described in EC Directive 92/69/EEC Method A5 and OECD Guideline 115. The surface tension at 20C of a 90% saturated solution of Beta Ketosulfide was determined to be 72.75mN/m.
