From two guideline studies (modified Sturm test (OECD 301B) and STP simulation test (OECD 303A)) it can be concluded that (3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)trimethylammonium chloride is not readily biodegradable. The removal rate constant received from the STP simulation test (0.065 hr-1) is close to removal rate for inherently degradable substance, which fulfils the criteria set in the TGD (0.1 hr-1).
