Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Skin contact: immediately remove contaminated clothing and shoes and wash affected area with soap and plenty of water. Seek medical advice.

Eyes contact:  the eye should be washed out immediately with plenty of water at least 10 minutes. If easy to do, remove contact lenses. Obtain medical attention.

Ingestion:  Obtain medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting.

Inhalation:  If inhaled, remove to fresh air and keep at rest. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing Media:  water spray, foam, extinguishing powder or carbon dioxide. Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam.

Special fire-fighting procedures:  Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing.

During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion.

Hazardous Combustion Products:  Carbon monoxide CO, carbon dioxide CO2, oxides of nitrogen (NOx), hydrogen chloride HCl.

Accidental release measures

General measures: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Individual protection: wear general purpose dust respirator (cartridge P2 type), safety goggles, rubber boots and PVC gloves and full chemical protective clothing.

Measures for protection of the environment : Prevent form entering into drains, ditches, rivers or sea. Prevent contamination of water and soil. Sweep up and place in  a clearly labeled container for chemical for chemical waste.  Inform local authorities if this cannot be prevented.

Cleaning methods: dispose contaminated material as waste. Collection mix with vermiculite or absorbent material. Wash contaminated area with water providing that the aqueous effluent can be disposed of safely.

Contaminated clothing should be disposed as hazardous waste.

Handling and storage

Handling: Use only in well ventilated areas. Keep container tightly closed. Keep ignition sources away.

Storage:  Store in a well ventilated, dry, cool area. Store away from oxidizing agents. Keep container tightly closed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure limites: not applicable

Respiratory protection:  Follow  the OSHA respirator regulations found in 29 CFR 1910.134 or European Standard EN 149. Use a NIOSH/MSHA or European Standard EN 149 approved respirator if exposure limits are exceeded or if irritation or other symptoms are experienced.

Eye protection:  wear safety goggles.

Skin and body protection:  wear chemical-resistant gloves (PVC) and full chemical protective clothing appropriate to prevent skin exposure.

Industrial hygiene:

Use process enclosure, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to control airbone levels.

Properly operating chemical fume hood designated for hazardous chemicals and having an average face velocity of at least 100 feet per minute.

Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed.

Remove all soiled and contaminated clothing immediately. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work.

Stability and reactivity

Stable under normal temperatures and pressures. Decomposition will not occur if used and stored according to specifications.

Incompatibility with  strong oxidizing agents.

Hazardous polymerization will not occur.

Hazardous Decomposition Products:  Carbon monoxide CO, carbon dioxide CO2, oxides of nitrogen (NOx), hydrogen chloride HCl.

Disposal considerations

Discharge, treatment or disposal may be subject to national, state or local laws.

Incineration.
