Additional information

Only a secondary information is available for acute oral toxicity.

RTECS (1999) reported an acute oral LD50 value of 152 mg/kg for rats (no further information).

BASF (1986) reported an acute oral toxicity study with sodium sulphide (CAS: 1313 -82 -2). Male and female Wistar rats were administered (gavage) concentrations of 50, 150, 500 or 5000 mg/kg. No animal died in the lowest dose level; 10% fatalities at 150 mg/kg, 90% fatalities at 500 mg/kg; all animals died at the highest dose level. Clinical signs reported in the highest dose level were sedation, somnolence, dyspnea, ataxia, sluggish movements, lateral and abdominal position and ruffled fur.

No data are available for acute inhalation toxicity.

Only a secondary citation is availabe for acute dermal toxicity.

RTECS (1999) reported an acute dermal LD50 value of 1790 mg/kg for rabbits (no further information).

Justification for classification or non-classification
