Description of key information

In a 96h semi static acute toxicity to fish test in Oncorrhynchus mykiss(rainbow trout), the EC50 value for the test substance BMS 589152-01, was >0.58 mg/l. The NOEC was 0.58 mg/l. There were no effects at the limit of solubility.

In a 48h acute aquatic toxicity test in Daphnia magna with the test substance BMS 589152-01,resulted in a EC50 value for, of > 0.53mg/l based on the time-weighted mean measured test concentrations. The NOEC was 0.53 mg/l. There were no toxic effects at the limit of solubility.

Exposure to BMS 589152-01 resulted in a EbC50 (72 hours) and a ErC50 (0-72 hours) of > 0.33 mg/l in Selenastrum Capricornutum, Strain No. CCAP 278/4 based on a time-weighted mean measured value. The NOEC was determined to be 0.33 mg/l.

BMS 589152-01 had no biologically significant inhibitory effect on the respiration rate of activated sludge at 1000 mg/l. The No Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC) after 3 hours exposure was 1000 mg/L.

Based on the above, the substance is not classified for the environment as no effects were seen up to the limit of solubility
