Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- Under the conditions of the present study with Selenastrum capricornutum, STI571 Y5A affected growth of this fresh water algae species significantly at 56 mg/l and higher
The EC50 for cell growth inhibition (EBC50:0-72h) was 49 mg/l.
The EC10 for cell growth inhibition (EBC10:0-72h) was 30 mg/l.
The EC50 for growth rate reduction (ERC50:0-72h) was 60 mg/l.
The EC10 for growth rate reduction (ERC10:0-72h) was 36 mg/l.
The NOEC was 32 mg/l for both cell growth inhibition and growth rate reduction. - Executive summary:
Based on the results STI571 Y5A has not to be classified as hazardous according the hazard class "acute aquatic toxicity", CLP ( EEC 1272/2008).
