Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A preliminary assessment of the hydrolytic stability of 2-Bromo-3,3,3-trifluoropropene was conducted (Huntingdon Life Sciences, 2012, study code WAG0007); the test was performed according to EC test guideline C7 and OECD method 111, and in compliance with GLP. The hydrolysis of the substance in water (nominal concentration approximately 25 mg/L) was assessed at 50°C over 10 days (240 hours); the test was conducted under acidic, neutral, and basic conditions (pH 4, pH 7, and pH 10).

At each pH condition, 2-Bromo-3,3,3-trifluoropropene was found to have hydrolysed by less than 10% by day 5; this is equivalent to a half-life of greater than 1 year at environmental conditions (25°C).

2-Bromo-3,3,3-trifluoropropene was determined to be hydrolytically stable under acidic, neutral, and basic conditions.
