First-aid measures

General information:

Take persons to a safe place. Observe self-protection for first aid. In the event allergic reactions, particularly those affecting the respiratory system,

seek immediate medical advice.

After inhalation:

Keep the patient calm. If unconscious place in stable sideways position. Protect against loss of body heat. If breathing stops,

administer artificial respiration. Seek medical advice and clearly identify substance.

After contact with the skin:

Remove contaminated or soaked clothing. Wash off with plenty of water or water and soap immediately for 10-15 minutes. In serious cases,

use emergency shower immediately. Seek medical advice and clearly identify substance.

After contact with the eyes:

Rinse immediately with plenty of water for 10-15 minutes. Keep eyelids well open to rinse the whole eye surface and eyelids with water.

Seek medical advice and clearly identify substance.

After swallowing:

If conscious, give several small portions of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical advice and clearly identify substance.

Advice for the physician:

Product can lead to sensitisation and can trigger allergies. After inhalation: treat as early as possible using cortisone spray.

Product may cause cancer. In the event of prolonged contact with the substance, long-term monitoring of relevant parameters is advisable.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

water, extinguishing powder, foam, carbon dioxide.

Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons:

-

Special exposure hazards arising from the substance or preparation itself, combustion products, resulting gases:

Hazardous combustion products: hydrogen chloride, nitrous gases.

Special protective equipment for fire fighting:

Use respiratory protection independent of recirculated air.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Keep unprotected persons away. Task force: Use tightly fitting chemical protection suit (see section 8).

Wear personal protection equipment (see section 8). Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Avoid inhaling mists and vapours. Observe wind direction.

Environmental precautions:

Contain any fluid that runs out using suitable material (e.g. earth). Prevent material from entering sewers or surface waters.

Dispose of in prescribed marked containers. Observe local/state/federal regulations.

Methods for cleaning up:

For small amounts: Absorb with a liquid binding material such as diatomaceous earth and dispose of according to local/state/federal regulations.

Contain larger amounts and pump up into suitable containers.

Further information:

Eliminate all sources of ignition.

Handling and storage

General information:

Avoid exposure by technical measures or personal protective equipment.

Handling:

Precautions for safe handling:

Ensure adequate ventilation. Must be syphoned off in situ. Keep away from incompatible substances in accordance with section 10.2.

Precautions against fire and explosion:

Cool endangered containers with water. Flammable vapors may accumulate and form explosive mixtures with air in containers, process vessels,

including partial, empty and uncleaned containers and vessels, or other enclosed spaces. Keep away from sources of ignition and do not smoke.

Storage:

Conditions for storage rooms and vessels:

Do not store in containers made of aluminum or other light metals.

Advice for storage of incompatible materials:

none known.

Further information for storage:

Keep in the original container in a cool well ventilated place. Keep container dry and tightly closed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure limits:

-

Exposure limited and controlled:

Exposure in the work place limited and controlled:

General protection and hygiene measures:

Remove contaminated, soaked clothing immediately. Do not eat, drink or smoke when handling. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.

Do not breathe vapours. Keep working clothes separately. Provide emergency shower and eye-bath.

Personal protection equipment:

Respiratory protection:

gas mask filter A. In case of long or strong exposure: positive pressure self contained breathing apparatus.

Hand protection:

protective gloves coated with neoprene . Wear gloves for short periods only < 10 mins..

Eye protection:

Disposal considerations

Material:

Recommendation:

Dispose of according to regulations by incineration in a special waste incinerator. Observe local/state/federal regulations.
