Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The potential toxicity of the test substance to activated sludge was determined in a respiration inhibition test by Desmares-Koopmans (2004). The study was conducted under GLP conditions and in accordance with the standardised guidelines OECD 209 and EU Method C.11.

The activated sludge was exposed to the test material at a nominal limit concentration of 100 mg/L, which was quantitatively added to each of the duplicate test vessels. Since the substance is poorly soluble in water, this concentration exceeded its solubility.

The test was performed under static freshwater conditions for 30 minutes in darkened bottles and the oxygen consumption was measured over a 10 minute period. Respiration rates of the test vessels and the controls were then compared to determine the percentage of any respiration inhibition.

Under the conditions of the test, no inhibition of respiration was observed in either replicate. The test substance is therefore considered not toxic to waste water bacteria at concentrations exceeding the limit of solubility.
