Piperonyl butoxide was not genotoxic
Executive summary:

In a micriobial mutagenicity test with Salmonella Typhimurium TA98, TA100, TA1535, TA1537 and TA1538 the test substance Piperonyl butoxide was tested both in the presence and absence of rat-liver S9 .

No mutagenic activiyt and no cytotoxicty were noted at dose levels of up to 5000 µg/plate.

Piperonyl was not genotoxic.
