Description of key information

Study has been waived. Long-term fish toxicity study would not be considered appropriate as Daphnia Magna has been demonstrated to be the most sensitive species on the basis of the data that have already been conducted.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In the interest of animal welfare and following the principles of reducing the need to conduct animal testing, the long term fish toxicity test has been waived. It has been concluded that Daphnia Magna is the most sensitive species following the study reports obtained in the  21-d Daphnia reproduction study, acute Daphnia immobilisation, acute toxicity to fish, algal growth inhibition and ready biodegradation test. As such conducting a long term fish toxicity test would be futile as it is not likely to provide any significant additional data and would not be considered appropriate.
