Acute tests on all three trophic levels were performed with a water accommodated fraction to examine the aquatic toxicity of
Hexamethylene diisocyanate, oligomers, reaction products withN-(3-trimethoxysilyl)propylbutylamine and Bis-(Trimethoxysilylpropyl)amine. For all acute tests on fish, aquatic invertebrates and aquatic algae no toxic effects occurred at the range of the substances water solubility. Thus, the submission item is considered to be with high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic organisms.
No data on the long-term aquatic toxicity of Hexamethylene diisocyanate, oligomers, reaction products with N-(3-trimethoxysilyl)propylbutylamine and Bis-(Trimethoxysilylpropyl)amine are available. However, the absence of adverse effects in acute studies on all three trophic levels as well as the fate properties suggest a low potential for severe long-term toxicity of the submission item to the environment.
