- Executive summary:
In a 48-h acute toxicity study according to OECD guideline 202, water fleas (Daphia magna) were exposedunder static conditions
to analytically measured test concentrations of 100 mg/LN-(2-Nitrophenyl)phosphoric triamide. The aim of this acute toxicity test was to assess possible effects of the test item on daphnids. Young daphnids, aged less than 24 hours at the start of the test, were exposed to the test item for a period of 48 hours. They were kept in a sample of defined water (ISO 6341) to which the test item has been added. Immobilisation was recorded at 24 and 48 hours after the test start and compared with control values. To determine the concentration for the test, a range-finding test (under non-GLP conditions) was performed. Because no immobilisation of Daphnia occurred during the range-finder up to the highest test concentration, the test was performed as a limit test at the highest possible test concentration of lOOmg/L.
No effects of N-(2-Nitrophenyl)phosphoric triamide on immobilisation of daphnids were determined. The NOEC after 48 h was 100 mg/l.
