Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

A GLP-compliant experimental study, scored as Klimisch 1, is selected as a key study.

The flammability of solids of the reaction product of naphthalene, propan-2-ol, sulfonated and neutralized by caustic soda was performed in compliance with EC A 10 method (2008).

Neither ignition nor propagation was observed during the preliminary test. The test item was not considered as highly flammable under the experimental conditions used.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the above data, reaction product of naphthalene, propan-2-ol, sulfonated and neutralized by caustic soda does not require a classification regarding its flammable properties, neither under DSD, nor under CLP.
