Additional information

The substance is not expected to significantly hydrolyze at environmental conditions.

The only group possibly susceptible to hydrolysis is the amide group which has half-lives measured in centuries at pH 7 (Mabey and Mill 1978). Moreover the molecule is fully conjugated and therefore a hydrolytically sensitive amide group is not present in the molecule anymore.

The substance is expected to be persistent or even very persistent in the environment. It is a pigment which are generally not biodegradable.

The substance is not expected to significatnly bioaccumulate in organisms. Its logKow is << 3 and therefore any potential to bioaccumulate can be ruled out.

Due to the low logKow (<<3) the substance is not expected to have any adsorption potential.
