Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
adverse effect observed (sensitising)
Additional information:

2-Methoxymethyl-p-phenylenediamine sulphate in DMSO was considered as skin sensitizer in Local Lymph Node Assay (LLNA).

Migrated from Short description of key information:
The study was performed with the sulfate salt of MBB and indicated the substance is a skin sensitiser in the LLNA when using DMSO

Justification for classification or non-classification

The calculated EC3 value of 4.3% (>2%) observed in the LLNA study perfomed with the sulfate form, indicated that the substance should be classified according to CLP as skin sensitizer category 1B: may cause an allergic skin reaction (H317).
