Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Bacterial systems:

An Ames test according to OECD TG 471 and GLP was conducted with 2-Hydroxy-4,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-triazin at concentrations of 61, 185, 555, 1666, and 5000 µg/plate, with and without metabolic activation (Aroclor 1254 induced rat liver S9 -Mix) in the Salmonella typhimurium strains TA 1535, 1537, 98, 100, and 102. Precipitation was observed at the concentrations of 555, 1666, and 5000 µg/plate. A slight reduction of revertants was observed in strain TA 100 (without metabolic activation, 5000 µg/plate) and in strain TA 102 (with and without metabolic activation, 5000 µg/plate), indicating a slight cytotoxic effect. No significant increase in number of revertants was observed, indicating that the test substance did not possess any mutagenic potential. This was supported by comparison with historical control data, and valid negative and positive control data of this study.

Short description of key information:
In an Ames test according to OECD TG 471 and GLP, no mutagenic potential of the test substance was observed, when treated with up to 5000 µg/plate with and without metabolic activation (Aroclor 1254 induced rat liver S9-Mix).

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)
