Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Long-term sediment toxicity studies have not been conducted for the registered substance. However, they are not required for Annex IX (Phase 2) substances under the REACH Regulation.

The substance hydrolyses very rapidly in water and its hydrolysis products have log Kow values <3 which indicate that partitioning to the sediment compartment is unlikely. In addition, the PNECs for the sediment compartment have been derived from the freshwater using the equilibrium partitioning method for the silanol hydrolysis product, and the RCRs (Risk Characterisation Ratios) indicate that there are no risks for the sediment compartment.

Ammonia does not accumulate in sediment (EA 2007) and the concentrations in sediment resulting from use of the registered substance are minimal compared to the natural background and other anthropogenic sources (see Section 9 of the CSR).
